담음

무라카미 하루키가 어떤 잡지에 연재했던 글을 모아 놓은 책. 수필 형식의 거의 A4 한 장도 안 되는 글을 모아 놓은 책인데, 읽으면서 완전 푸하하. 귀엽다. 진짜 이 아저씨...

  한 2년 전인가 사둔 책인데 다시 읽으니 새록새록 그 때의 기억이 난다. 그 때도 거실에서 읽으면서 옆에서 신문 읽는 엄마한테 "엄마, 엄마 이것 좀 읽어 봐" 하면서 괴롭혔었나보다.

  오늘도 푹신한 거실 소파에서 읽으면서 웃긴 거 나오면 엄마한테 읽어주고, 읽어보라고 하면서 괴롭혔더니

  "이거 니가 옛날에 읽으라고 해서 읽은거거든? 신문 좀 읽게 놔둬"

라면서 날 버리셨다. 흑흑 (그 글은 감자고로케에 관한 글이라서 은근 엄마한테 고로케 해달라는 압박을 넣기 위해 읽힌 글이었다.)

  이런 방학도 나쁘지 않은데, 아 휴학하고 가벼운 수필이랑 짧은 단편 소설 가득 쌓아놓고 뒹굴뒹굴 하면 좋겠다. 이런 방학 갖고파.

  난 하루키 글 중에 수필이 가장 좋다. 근데 생각해보니 내가 원래 수필을 좋아한다. -.- ... 국내에서는 내가 매우 좋아하는 장영희 교수님의 내 생애 단 한번 :) 중학교때부터 닳도록 읽었더랬다. 닳도록은 솔직히 오바고 펼쳐보면 읽다가 흘린 음식물 자국이 조금 많은 정도. 오랜만에 읽어야겠다... <하필이면>이 읽고 싶다.

  방학 좋다. 감동적이다. 방학. T_T 좋다. 좋다. 좋다. T_T

그런데 이거 쓰려고 표지 검색하다가 마음에 드는 글을 쓰는 사람을 발견했다. 히히 자주 찾아가야지. :-)

<My favorite conversation.>

- You know I usually alternate between thinking that everything is irrevocably screwed up, and that things might be getting better in some ways.

- Better? How could you possibly say that?

- Well, I just mean, you know, like.. I know it sounds weird but there are some things to be optimistic about.

- Okay, I know your book is selling, which is great. I'm very happy for you. But let me break the news for you.  The world is a mess right now.

- I wasn't saying that..

- The western world might think that they're gettin a bit better. But...

- I.. I...

- We're moving all our industry to developing nation where we can get cheap labor, free of any environmental laws, okay, the weapon industry is booming, five million people die every year from preventable water disease. So how is the world getting any better? I'm not getting angry, I'm not getting angry. But come on, i wanna know, I'm interested.

- Okay. I realize that there are a lot of serious problems in the world.

- Okay.

- Okay, I mean i don't even have one publisher in the whole Asian market. (laughing)

-Okay, alright.Say stop.

-Stop.

-Ah~ah (finger)

-Okay, Look all i'm saying is that there are more awareness out there. People are gonna fight back. I mean i think that the world might getting better because the people like you are educated and speaking out. Even the very notion of conservation on environmental issues. This wasn't even in the vocabulary until fairly recently, you know. And it's becoming norm. And eventually might be expected all over the world.

-I agree with what you're saying. But at the same time it's dangerous. Imperialist countries can use that kind of thinking to justify their economic greed. you know.. I mean human rights ..

- Do you have particular imperialist country you have in mind there, french chick?

- Hum, no, not really.

- No?

- Uhuh.

고삼시절 공부가 하기 싫어서
